If you threatened to break my arm if I didn't pick just one transceiver for you to buy (I've chosen to not pick only one transceiver on BeaconReviews.com), I'd tell you to buy a Pieps Powder (which is the same as a Black Diamond Recon). There are several good avalanche transceivers, but you can't go wrong with this one (and you were going to break my arm!).
